Starting today I will be cooking at least one meal per day from scratch. In addition, all breads will be made from scratch. My goal is to see whether or not this improves a) family finances; b) weight management; and/or c) brings about the joy of planning family meals together.

Oh yeah. A good poached egg starts with a very fresh egg so that the whites stay intact when you drop them into the lightly simmering water. The egg yolk was perfect despite this.
ReplyDeleteDoubt that eating absolutely fabulous home made food will help with weight management but it sure will be healthier and super delicious! :o) What are you going to do when you go on vacations?
ReplyDeleteI'll have to create some make ahead dishes. Here is a my breakfast tally for today:
ReplyDeleteI did actually eat 3 poached eggs. Probably not the recommended daily allowance but they were good. 74 calories each or 222 calories total. Slice of bread: 100 calories. Pat of butter on toasted bread: 100 calories. Total breakfast calories: 422. :-(
